In this activity, groups were provided with one large map of the town and one set of "land use stickers". Groups were required to discuss the stickers and decide where they should be applied on the map.

In this final activity, each person was given $100 in "West Brookfield bucks" and asked to spend this money on any combination of preservation, schools, town services, planning and studies, town facilities, or other. The activity's dollars are intended to loosely represent an allocation of tax dollars.

Planning For the Future

How do you envision the Town of West Brookfield in 10 years?

The Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC) has been selected by the West Brookfield Master Plan Committee (MPC) to develop West Brookfield’s first Master Plan!

The project will run for approximately 10 months and will include:

  • Public outreach

  • A community-wide survey

  • The production of a plan that lays out a vision for a community’s future over the next ten years (or more) and creates a roadmap to get there through goals and actions.

Your input is needed!

CMRPC and the MPC will be embarking on a very broad public outreach and participation program. Along the way, you will be invited to participate in events, to review draft chapters, and to help spread the word about this important project. It is our priority to keep the public well-informed throughout this process.

By combining the public's valuable input, data on current and future trends, and innovative ideas, the Master Plan will provide West Brookfield residents with a clear vision for the future and a set of realistic implementation steps to achieve the Town's goals.
